Vbites
Open 7 days a week 09:30 - 23:30
VBites, Hove Lagoon

About a 2 mileish walk down the scenic boardwalk from Brighton and you'll come across a mirage of unbelievable proportion. VBites is like finding the gingerbread castle in a fairy tale. You'll rub your eyes in disbelief. Set in an adorable cottage cafe that used to be used by animal rights protesters VBites is a wonderland for both young and old. Skate Park / Children's Water Play area, large green lawn, on the boardwalk. There's even a windsurfing/sailing school in the lagoon, but they are too keen on vegans (see pic below). Depending on which door you go in your first impression will be different. I highly suggest you go around to the outdoor patio and walk in so your first sight is the Cupcake Conveyor Belt! Think a Sushi restaurant, but with cupcakes. If you aren't totally blow away keep walking to the back, which is a nice upscale bar and restaurant. Front & Outside for the wild little kiddies and back is a retreat for everyone who can't hang in the skate park. Your heart will be filled with hope and astonishment and children rush in from their outdoor activities and buy soft serve cones, cupcakes, and endless veggie fast food. I almost shed a tear thinking of how much I'd have enjoyed this place as a child! If you have Vegan children, this is where its at hands down. Its open very early to very late and we enjoyed it on all occasions during our visit. I'm not a big fan of fake meat products, but check the menu there are many options and there is no frier in the entire place so everything is generally pretty easy on the fat content. Heather Mills you and your staff have really outdone yourselves!!!

So any place with a cupcake conveyor belt should be my favorite place to eat, right? I'd think so. But the cupcake wasn't very good. We took it to go, and I didn't actually eat it until we were in Dover... but basically our Vbites experience was a disappointment.

Does this Hawaiian pizza look good to you all? (And it should because Audrey took the photo... she says you don't get to see the whole pizza because it had a gooey, oily, unappetizing center.) Cruzer's Hawaiian Pizza destroys this. On a scale of 1-10, Cruzer in Silver Lake, Los Angeles, gets an 11 and Vbites gets a 2. And that's only because it's vegan.

Audrey's BLT cheezburger thingy was on some pretty tasty bread. But that's about as much as I can say for it. It reminded me of a hoagie from Philly from back when I was a little kid.

The RFD version of this in Palm Springs was so good. Not so much the RFD version in Westwood. But you know what? As between this one below and the one at RFD in Westwood, I prefer the Westwood version. And for anyone who might know what I'm talking about, that says a lot.

I was sure glad to have that organic cherry beer to get rid of the taste of the soggy fries! Audrey read this sentence as it was being typed and would've written it as "...getting rid of the taste of oil in my mouth."
